Lights on for New Jersey After 3!

New Jersey After 3 is delighted to share that it will see the light of another day!

On October 31, 2011 - the day when New Jersey After 3 was closing operation, Governor Christie announced that the state will work with us to build a new public-private partnership - committed to supporting our mission to expand afterschool opportunities for New Jersey's youth.

You can watch Governor Christie's announcement HERE.

The state has asked New Jersey After 3 to participate in the No Child Left Behind (NCLB) waiver application process - which will provide us with an opportunity to work with the state, federal government, local school districts and others to support the expansion of high quality expanded learning time programs for tens of thousands of children around the state.

While there is an expectation of public funding, once funds have been secured through the NCLB and a new partnership is developed, New Jersey After 3 will have to work with its core supporters and potential new donors to secure the funds necessary to sustain its operations in the interim.

We are grateful for this opportunity to stay true to our mission to expand and improve afterschool opportunities for New Jersey's youth, and we look forward to the time when we can serve New Jersey families once again.

Sincerely,

Mark Valli

President & CEO
